With initial release in 1998, the BIN 169 was the first wine in the Twisted River range. It was a pioneer in the Riesling category by offering wide distribution of medium-dry Riesling with a simple, varietal label. BIN 169 has less than half the residual sweetness of most Rieslings offered in the U.S. and other export markets.
This wine is off-dry, yet fruity, crisp and well-balanced with fresh apple and pear flavors and hints of grapefruit. Superb on its own or with broiled seafood, grilled chicken or a variety of lighter fare.
To bolster the lineup, the BIN 488 – a Late-Harvest Riesling (Spätlese) from the Mosel – was added a year later. It quickly established itself as the leader in the line-up and continues to set the sales pace.
The BIN 488 is a quintessential late-harvest Riesling, with rich fruit and hints of sweet pear and melon. Also delicious on its own and especially good with Asian cuisine and barbecue.
An off-dry offering from the Rheinhessen region, the BIN 106 offers distributors, retailers and consumers alike, this unique and interesting grape variety at a modest price.
The BIN 106 offers classic Gewürztraminer character, with intense flavors of pear, apricot and lychee and a hint of mineral. It really shines when paired with Szechuan of Thai cuisine or with simple, barbecue chicken.
The Germans were ahead of the curve in the Sweet Red craze when they discovered early on that their beloved Dornfelder – an early ripening variety with deep dark color and soft mellow tannins – proved to be a crowd-pleaser when made sweet. The sweeter, the better, as the mantra goes!
The BIN 475 Dornfelder is a deeply colored, velvety smooth red with rich plum and blackberry flavors. Deliciously sweet with a full, pleasant finish. Serve slightly chilled on its own, with a hearty beef dish or with pasta and red sauce.
